Article Retraction Policy
Mentis Journal of Educational Research Article Retraction Policy
Mentis Journal is committed to maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record. Retraction is considered a mechanism for correcting the literature and alerting readers to articles that contain serious flaws or ethical violations.
1. Grounds for Retraction
An article may be retracted if one or more of the following conditions are identified:
- Evidence of research misconduct, including data fabrication or falsification
- Plagiarism in whole or in significant part
- Duplicate publication or redundant publication
- Ethical violations (e.g., lack of informed consent, misuse of human/animal data)
- Serious methodological errors that invalidate the findings
- Authorship disputes that cannot be resolved post-publication
- Legal issues such as copyright infringement or defamation
2. Retraction Process
Retraction decisions are made by the Editor-in-Chief in consultation with the editorial board and, when necessary, independent reviewers.
- The author(s) will be informed and given an opportunity to respond
- A formal investigation may be conducted
- The final decision will be based on COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines
3. Retraction Notice
If an article is retracted:
- The original article will remain accessible
- It will be clearly marked as “Retracted”
- A retraction notice will be published explaining the reason for retraction
- The notice will be linked to the original article
4. Post-Retraction Policy
Retracted articles will remain part of the scholarly record to maintain transparency but should not be cited as valid research.
