The aim of this study is to examine the curriculum structures of Hair Care and Beauty Services programs in higher education institutions in Turkey and to propose a holistic curriculum model based on the findings. The research was conducted using a qualitative research approach with document analysis. In this context, Hair Care and Beauty Services programs in vocational schools operating in Turkey were identified using YÖKATLAS 2026 data, and then access to course plans and content was obtained from the websites of these universities. The obtained data were evaluated through content analysis, and the courses were classified under thematic categories. The analysis revealed that while there is a certain similarity in terms of core professional courses among the programs, significant differences exist in terms of course content, application intensity, elective course structures, and terminology. In particular, the presentation of the same courses under different names and the variability in the emphasis on application indicate a lack of standardization among the programs. Based on these findings, a curriculum model is proposed that is based on professional competencies, integrates theoretical and practical training in a balanced way, and is compatible with sector needs. The proposed model is: The model consists of four fundamental components: a core curriculum based on courses with a high degree of similarity among programs, a flexible module structure that allows for institutional differentiation, integration of practical applications that strengthens professional skill acquisition, and an ECTS and Bologna-based structure that supports international alignment. This model offers a holistic approach that ensures both standardization and program diversity. Consequently, this study aims to establish a systematic framework for the development of Hair Care and Beauty Services programs in Turkey and to contribute to the restructuring of curricula in a balanced, practice-oriented, and sustainable manner.
