Mentis is dedicated to protecting and enhancing authors' academic contributions. Submissions to our journal are safeguarded within the framework of authors’ copyright and published in a manner that supports academic freedom. Mentis respects authors' rights and encourages them to make effective use of their work.

  1. Copyright Ownership

Authors submitting articles to Mentis retain the copyright of their published works. While Mentis has the right to be recognized as the original publisher, all copyrights of published articles remain with the authors. Authors are free to reuse, distribute, and share their work across various platforms.

  1. Licensing and Usage Rights

Mentis publishes all articles under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) license. This license grants authors the freedom to share and adapt their work for non-commercial purposes. Within this scope, authors may use, republish, and distribute their work in non-commercial contexts for academic and professional purposes. Proper attribution must be provided for all uses.

  1. Author’s Right to Reuse

Authors have the right to use their published articles in Mentis under the following circumstances:

  • Personal and Academic Use: Authors may freely share their published work on personal websites or institutional repositories.
  • Educational Use: Authors may use their work as teaching material and distribute it to students for educational purposes.
  • Scientific Presentations and Events: Authors may use the content of their articles in scientific presentations or professional events, sharing and discussing their research.

Mentis encourages authors to share their work freely. Authors may archive the following versions of their articles:

  • Submitted Version: The original manuscript prior to peer review.
  • Accepted Version: The version that has passed peer review but before final publication.
  • Published Version: The final version published in Mentis.

Authors have the right to share these versions on personal or institutional repositories, public databases, or other academic platforms. This sharing expands the accessibility of the work and helps authors reach a wider audience.

  1. Republishing of Work

Articles published in Mentis may be reused in non-commercial publications or as book chapters with the author's permission. Authors must reference Mentis as the original source when republishing their work.

  1. Additional Rights and Legal Assurance

Authors retain full commercial rights to their work published in Mentis and may utilize these rights as they see fit. Mentis complies with all legal requirements for the academic and ethical use of authors' works and is committed to protecting authors' rights.

  1. Author’s Right to Withdraw

Mentis respects authors' right to withdraw their articles. Withdrawal requests prior to publication must be communicated to the editors. Post-publication withdrawal requests are subject to editorial board approval and can only be granted in exceptional cases.

  1. Protection of Commercial Rights

Mentis allows authors to use their work for commercial purposes. However, authors may also license their work to third parties for commercial use. All responsibilities related to commercial rights rest with the authors.

  1. Ethical Responsibilities and Legal Support

Mentis respects the ethical and legal rights of its authors. Authors are responsible for the content of their work and any ethical violations. Mentis collaborates with authors in cases of ethical misconduct and provides legal support if necessary.
